Have you ever heard of Alice Bailey? She wrote at the turn of the 20th century about New Age topics of meditation, healing, spiritual psychology and telepathy. In fact, she believed a lot of her writings were dictated via telepathy from an ascended master. I have my own ideas as to exactly who this ascended master was … suffice it to say that she named her publishing company, Lucifer Trust.
Anyway, Alice Bailey thought the world needed to get past Christianity in order to evolve spiritually. At the hands of this mysterious ascended master spirit, she channeled a ten-step plan to dismantle Christianity. The fact that someone developed such a plan is not a surprise, but a look at the steps in that plan cause every conspiracy theorist hair on the back of my neck to stand on end!
Let’s take a look at her ten steps:
Is it just me, or does this read like a playbook for the past century? Church attendance is steadily decreasing, and fewer and fewer Christians believe in the exclusivity of salvation offered by Jesus.
So now I have a conundrum. If I believe there is a concerted effort to undermine Christianity, then I would be considered a conspiracy theorist. If I believe that all of this happened by chance, then I would have to be a “coincidence theorist”. You have to put me in the former camp. I can’t believe that all of the following happened by chance:
So, I have to wonder if there really has been a concerted effort among governments and the power-elite to implement Bailey’s plans. If so, did they do so with the specific intent to undermine Christianity as she intended? Maybe these musings make me a conspiracy theorist. Or maybe I’m just a writer with a good imagination who sees the fun in such insidious plots (as long as they remain in fiction!). To tell you the truth, I’m not sure which one I am, but I know this: The This Generation Series explores the possibility of such nefarious plots in the context of fun characters and fast-paced action. Check it out.
