I like to study the Bible because I love the Lord, and His word has great value to me personally. But I have to be honest: I also study it because it is fun. Not only does the text show divine inspiration on a surface level, but also in very deep mysteries that show the hand of an intelligence far greater than man’s.
One example that people heard a lot of in the 1980’s was Equidistant Letter Spacing (ELS), often called the Bible Code. The original Hebrew text was written as a string of consonants, without the chapter and paragraph …
I have long said that my favorite aspect of my books is the characters. When I am in writing mode, I awaken in the morning wondering what new and fun thing these people will bring to my life that day. In Penance, which takes place in our near future, the thrill comes solely from the antics of fictional characters. But in Precipice and Pentecost, some of the fun came from the ability to put the fictional characters into the sphere of influence of historical figures.…
This is a short rendering of a tale about a man named Albert Pike (1809-1891)who wrote in detail about a dream/vision he had in a letter to his friend, Giuseppe Mazzini (1805-1872).
A little bit about the correspondents before we get to the vision: Pike was a renowned genius in his day and Harvard educated. He was a 33rd Degree Mason and grand master of a Luciferian organization called the Order of Palladium. Pike had a strongly philosophical nature and seemed to like biting the hand that fed him—hence, this Bostonian became a Confederate Brigadier General in the …
It was my pleasure to sell books from a table at last week’s Steel City ComiCon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was my first ComiCon, and I was a bit nervous. Nervous, you ask? You betcha! Maybe I spent too much time in New York, but I have an inherent distrust of people in costumes. Not only that, but I wasn’t sure how my books would appeal to the costumed masses. I figured a lot of the attendees could get behind the alien abduction phenomena referenced in the books—but Bible prophecy?
Well, let me say I was VERY pleasantly surprised. …
The Bible is a fascinating book with the power to change lives. That’s a true statement, but let’s face it, if you’ve never read the Bible before, it can be pretty intimidating.
Sometimes people ask me what I get out of reading it. It’s an easy question, but it is hard to answer. I truly believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. In my life, it has had and continues to have the power to heal my sinful nature. Like a lot of people, I lived a pretty clean life externally, but I was filled with bitterness, rage, …
The holidays found me gorging again. One of the benefits of my stint as an elder care provider is that I’ve become a pretty good cook. Frankly, I didn’t know I had it in me. That means I’m dangerous around the holidays. For example, this past Christmas season I made over 2,000 cookies, Italian pastries, Italian candy, homemade ravioli, and assorted other fresh pastas. You can probably guess by now that part of my heritage is Italian. To sum it up, throughout the first part of December, I cooked, tasted, and wrote. In the last part of December and …
I am especially happy today, because I have just finished my first pass at the third novel in the This Generation Series, Penance! Michael and crew have a lot to see and experience before their storylines end. This novel is grittier than the first two, but then again times are tough for our characters. They have to deal with the loss of family and friends at the end of Pentecost, and they have to forge new relationships in order to survive in a world gone mad. Rest assured, though, this book is both exciting and really fun …
Well, to the disappointment of many a conspiracy theorist, we made it through September without a rapture, asteroid impact, the ‘Big One’ earthquake, economic collapse, or disclosure of alien intelligence. There is an old saying in business regarding financial projections: “You’ll be spot on if you give the amount or the date. You only get into trouble when you give both.” The problem with the September projections is that they were too specific and tried to force a timeline. The fact that these events didn’t occur in September does not invalidate some very good trend analysis behind the predictions.
With …
I was recently asked if the This Generation Series of books would be enjoyable to people of different beliefs. My answer to that question is that these books are a fun read—and fun is FUN, regardless of a person’s particular belief system.
The question was born out of the fact that the books come from a decidedly Christian mindset. That having been said, they are full of mystery, action, creepy events, and lively characters. Let’s face it. A good read is just that: a good read. For Christians, these books provide a new twist on the fulfillment of prophecy. For …
When my cousin, Gregg, finished reading Pentecost, he said to me: “I don’t know, TC, but it looks to me like you might have written yourself into a corner.” I didn’t admit he was right, but I have to tell you I was afraid of that too. Precipice and Pentecost have a lot going on, but they move inexorably forward to the event that ends Pentecost. On the ride to that huge climactic event, we were entertained by a host of characters that had become like family to me … and, I might add, to a lot of …
