The This Generation Series deals with the idea of extraterrestrials visiting Earth. As I researched this phenomenon, I discovered that some very prominent UFO researchers, such as Jacques Valee, determined these beings were not so much extraterrestrial as extra-dimensional. Other researchers have noted a marked increase in the incidence of poltergeist activity among people who claim extraterrestrial contact. A very typical tale of contact involves extra-dimensional entities floating people from their homes in a trance and performing weird, aggressive, extremely personal examinations. This phenomenon isn’t new. It has happened down through the ages, but was attributed to different entities—prior to the last few decades, these events would have been considered demonic episodes.

What’s that you say? Demons? That’s ridiculous! Everyone knows UFO occupants are highly evolved beings from somewhere other than Earth. This idea has gained quite a bit of traction. According to a National Geographic survey from 2014, 77% of all Americans believe “there are significant signs that aliens have visited Earth”. Last week a Democratic contender for the presidency of the United States said she would get to the bottom of the UFO issue and vowed to investigate claims of Area 51 retro-engineering crashed UFOs. Her statement validates the long-held belief by Americans that we have in our possession several alien craft, and that we have been back engineering since the Roswell crash of 1947.

This is the real issue of incredulity for me. The belief is that we have recovered UFO crashes not only in Roswell, New Mexico, but literally all over the world. Some evidence hints to the Nazis back-engineering a crashed alien vehicle well before Roswell, and there are rumors of similar engineering feats for Britain, Russia, and China. To me this is the real indication of something nefarious (and I mean in a spiritual way) going on. We are supposed to believe, and polls say we do, that on distant worlds far away, beings evolved the incredible intelligence to command the vast distances of time and space to send vehicles to Earth. We’re also to believe they only evolved the intelligence to propel these vehicles, but not to stop them. After all, they have fallen on Earth like so much rain since the beginning of the last century. Are we actually supposed to believe these amazingly advanced individuals learned to drive the galactic superhighway, but never learned to park? It seems only the worst drivers in the universe come here.

Let’s say this debris is real. Why would the most advanced nations of the world scramble to back-engineer such flawed technology? Maybe after billions or trillions of dollars invested in all that engineering, one day we’ll be able to crash things on distant worlds as well!

Let’s imagine for a moment there is another agenda afoot. What if their intent all along was to seed us with a different technology … to lull us into seeing them as benevolent and aspirational? Let’s be like our space brothers! Let’s take our place in a galactic federation of beings all of whom are significantly more evolved than we are!

Do you see the problem? All of these crashes couldn’t have been by accident if the occupants are so smart. If they weren’t accidents, then they must have been intentional. If intentional, then the crashes are de facto lies. The new question becomes: Why would advanced intelligences want to lie to us in a century-long cosmic charade?

To my mind, the ancient alien theorists got it right. Our civilization has been visited by advanced beings in the past. We have scant evidence of it because that incursion resulted in disaster. Jesus said the days near His return would be like the days of Noah. That was a time when beings that the Bible describes as fallen angels came to Earth and corrupted everything.

I’m just laying it out there. Maybe the aliens exist. Maybe they aren’t benevolent. Maybe they’ve been here before in a time that led to massive destruction. Maybe history repeats itself.
